To reduce lead climbing risk here at Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym, we have reviewed our policy on lead climbing belay devices.

After gathering industry and climbers' feedback, from 10th October 2022, only the following devices will be allowed at St. Peters:

•  Petzl GriGri+
•  Wild Country Revo
•  Edelrid Eddy
•  Camp Matik
•  Mad Rock Lifeguard
•  Petzl GriGri
•  Mammut Smart 2
•  Edelrid Jul2
•  Edelrid MegaJul
•  Black Diamond ATC Pilot

Prior to October 10th, workshops will be carried out to demonstrate these devices. Most will be available at our gear shop for a discounted price.

Our policy checking all climbers on the lead device they choose to use will continue as before.

Only the listed devices will be permitted; please don’t ask staff to make exceptions.
