For everyone’s safety, Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym has updated the belay devices permitted for lead climbing at St Peters.

Approved Devices

Only the following devices may be used for lead climbing:

• Petzl GriGri, GriGri 2, GriGri+
• Petzl NEOX*
• Edelrid Pinch, Jul², Mega Jul
• Black Diamond Pilot

*To be assessed on the Petzl NEOX, climbers must have held a lead pass on another approved device for at least two months.

Existing Approvals

If you’ve previously been assessed by SICG staff on one of the devices below, you may continue using it as long as you show your valid lead pass:

• Edelrid Eddy
• Mammut Smart
• Wild Country Revo
• Mad Rock Lifeguard
• CAMP Matik

Ongoing Safety Checks

Staff will continue to check climbers on the belay device they choose to use. Only listed devices are permitted.
